Affixed is a short experimental film which explores how obsession traverses in the mind, submerging one in a repetitive rhythm. Xara is a personification of obsession who finds her muse in Ben and makes him obsessed with a particular tune of music. The film is divided into three chapters with each chapter exploring what obsession does in a person’s mind in stages. The elements which Xara interacts with is a metaphorical representation of various human emotions.

The Dark, Debra references Mark Robinson’s The Dark, Krystle (2013) and develops a related narrative of a woman in a state of unrest and seclusion. Through digital editing and image modification, Debra Paget – cast in a supporting role in the original sample – is featured as the sole character. Part experimental fiction, part remake, supercut and music video, The Dark, Debra seeks to reveal the fixed concepts applied to Debra Paget’s Hollywood persona and to produce more ambiguous notions of identity, intention and subversion.

Hijinks ensue and discoveries are made as the characters live out their childhood fantasies. Created with found paper dolls cut from a 1920’s newspaper and found in an attic, the film explores the adults attempt to dictate what girls learn, and the children’s talent for discovering forbidden knowledge.
